Participation in the Industry & Ecological Transition Commission Evening
On Tuesday, March 4, 2025, during the Industry & Ecological Transition Commission Evening, organized by France Invest, a round table addressed the challenges of energy transition. Patrick Bouchard, President of HEVATECH, participated in the discussion moderated by Sophie Paturle Guesnerot, alongside influential speakers such as Antoine Huard (Verso Energy), David Marchal (ADEME), and Julia Reinaud (Breakthrough Energy).
The event highlighted the importance of energy efficiency and waste heat recovery as a lever to accelerate the transition. However, several obstacles remain, including insufficient knowledge of these heat sources and concerns regarding their impacts on existing industrial processes. Investors also face financing difficulties, especially in the intermediate phase of projects just before their proven profitability.
To overcome these obstacles, Patrick Bouchard proposed simplifying existing aid schemes and creating an insurance mechanism, such as an “energy savings guarantee,” to reassure industrialists regarding the initial demonstrators.
Energy transition must no longer be a matter of intention, but of action. Additional solutions are needed to implement this plan, and discussions are encouraged to move towards a sustainable energy future.
