Recap of the 3rd edition of the ALLICE biennial Congress

HEVATECH participated in the ALLICE Congress on September 24th, alongside Michel Luong (Mersen), focusing on a key topic: Recovering waste heat through CHP, an essential driver for competitiveness and decarbonization.

In Europe, industrial waste heat represents nearly 300 TWh per year above 200°C. Converted into electricity, this resource would be equivalent to 10 EPRs, 8,000 5 MW wind turbines, or 40,000 hectares of photovoltaic panels. HEVATECH has developed two technologies (Turbosol and H2P) enabling 60 to 80% recovery.

Our industrial case studies demonstrate this:

  • Mersen Gennevilliers: 144 kW recovered, -200 tCO₂/year, ROI ≈ 3 years
  • Essity Hondouville: target of +4,000 tCO₂ avoided/year, ROI < 3 years with CEEs

Thanks to support mechanisms (CEEs, Heat Fund) and our ZERO CAPEX offer co-developed with Eren Groupe, return on investment is between 2 and 4 years.

The conclusion: Decarbonizing becomes profitable from day one, without risk, while strengthening industrial competitiveness.

Thanks to the ALLICE Alliance and all participants for these constructive discussions.
